New webinar series on microgrids launches Aug. 20

A new webinar series will launch on Aug. 20 aiming to help remote and isolated communities explore how microgrids can improve energy access, reliability and affordability.
This six-part C-MAP webinar series offers practical guidance on several stages of microgrid planning and performance, providing communities with the tools to advance microgrid projects that strengthen local energy systems and support future growth.
ACEP is a partner in C-MAP, short for the , a U.S. Department of Energy Office of Electricity program. The series is managed by the National Laboratory of the Rockies.
The series will run on a Thursday each month through January 2027:
- Aug. 20 – System integration for microgrids: Planning to add new generation and storage assets
- Sept. 24 – Controls and SCADA (supervisory control and data acquisition) best practices for microgrid operations
- Oct. 22 – Procurement and commissioning for microgrids: Requirements, testing and acceptance
- Nov. 19 – Planning for microgrid operations and maintenance: What to do, how often and what it takes
- Dec. 17 – Making IPPs (independent power producers) /PPAs (power purchase agreements) work: From project concept to contract and operations
- Jan. 21, 2027 – From scenarios to decisions: Practical financial modeling for microgrids
